If you are into Garands, you've probably heard of Dean.

My dealings with him will be remembered as very pleasant exchanges. He did good work at a fair price, and produced beautiful stocks.

He did a build for me about 8 years ago that was fabulous. Wow one of the great garand guys is gone!

i sent him a greek cmp garand. He reparked it, didn't really need any new parts it was in spec, and put a douglas .308 barrel on it. With a french bastogne set of wood. It was a work of art.
Interesting enough he use to live in san diego and did the work out of his garage till living in california became too onerous.
And he moved to where he has been in recent years, think he had a small lake or pond on the property. I am sorry to hear of this, his wife worked in the business and was good at it too.
He used that danish oil watkins on my stock, still have a can of it for touch up.
