I'm having a 9 twist 223 Stevens barrel reamed out to 22-250 and put on a Marlin XS7 action. Barnes recommends at least a 9 twist for the TSX and 8 twist for the TTSX. Anyone ever tried the TTSX in a 9 twist 22-250? I'm no more than a few hundred feet above sea level.
Also, has anyone experienced much difference in performance between the two? Enough to risk the expense of buying the TTSX and having them not stabilize? I've heard of some people having lack of expansion issues with the TSX and that the TTSX has pretty much solved this problem.

Anxious to hear how this comes out..
Worst case scenario you could drop back to the 55 TTSX...its a sure killer.

It works in a 9 twist .223 at 600 feet above sea level. I see no reason it wouldn't stabilize in a .22-250.

I know nothing. I have only killed a few deer with the 62 grain TSX and the 223, it probably don't work going faster.

I did find that a 26 inch 9 twist would stabilize 70 grain TSXs, but a 20 inch 9 twist would not. Both stabilize 62 grain TTSXs nicely. 53 grain TSXs have worked surprisingly well.

Just got this rifle back so I'm ready to work up a load before our rifle season opens next month. Any pet loads out there for the 62TSX in a 22-250? My manual only goes up as high as the 53gr for this round.

no but I am darned interested in hearing about how it shoots and seeing the results on deer with the 62TSX at 22-250 speed.

We have a 1=10 twist Ruger American in 22-250,shoots 62 tsx nicely. IIRC,I only loaded them up about 3300 fps.

What powder you running? Load data is scarce. A quick look down the list in the Sierra manual for 63-65gr bullets shows IMR4064 at the top end for speed, but recommends RE15 or Varget for the accuracy and hunting loads. I have all three as well as H380, H414, 4350, and 4895. All suggestions welcome.

I loaded IMR 4895,32.5 grains, one grain below listed minimum for the 53 tsx in the barnes manual. it is very mild, but accurate in our rifle, and a 62 gr .224 diameter bullet at 3200-3300 is plenty for deer. when we shoot up the box or two we loaded last year ,we will work up a load, for now, this load seems to work fine. the reason there is so little data, most 22-250 wont handle this length of bullet, either in twist rate,or magazine length. it was either barnes or one of the powder makers, will provide load data if you call and ask.
