Dear all

Does anyone know if HS Precision have changed their stock painting technique/style of recent?

I have seen some recent models on Gunsamerica with factory paint jobs which were different (not as attractive) in style to previous models.

I would be interested to hear from any informed parties out there ref my comments above and/or anyone else who has noticed the same?

Kind regards

I think it's luck of the draw when it comes to webbing on H-S stocks. A few years back I ordered an H-S stock and my nephew liked it so much he ordered one for himself. The webbing looked a lot better on his than mine. Last year I wanted to change the color scheme up on mine so I sent it back for a repaint. I told them "heavy webbing" this time and got it. It wasn't more webbing like I expected, it was thicker webbing. It wasn't what I was expecting but I like it.

I agree it looks a lot different than the webbing of past on H-S stocks. I like it though.

Break it into two aspects: webbing and pattern. I like the new camo patterns I am seeing more than the former. However the last HS stock I purchased had very thick, coarse webbing. Seemed like they used a much higher viscosity paint, like a dial filler. I had to sand it down in a couple spots, eg: cheek piece and wrist. A sample of one. May have been a "Monday after a holiday" stock. And everything else was O.K. However, would be disappointed if that was representative of a new standard for their webbing.

Your rifle looks great in that config.

Last week I ordered one of their sporter stocks in olive and also one of their original sendero stocks with the pattern you have on yours (tri colour desert).

I then googled that pattern and found two examples on the net which were quite different. I must admit it is the webbing that is the main difference.

The .22-250 below is what I'm familiar with in terms of their camo pattern. The .300 win mag is the one with the heavy webbing. Do you think if I call HSP and specify not heavy webbing, they will accommodate my request?

You might want to call H-S and tell them what kind of webbing you want. It might help.

Nice rig TC1! Really like that set-up. You nailed the base/ring height with the chosen scope.
