Gilled cheese, bacon in it. Big day, simple and it hit the spot.

For last night it was gonna be Corned Beef on Rye.
Meat finally cooked when I realize that I had NOT purchased sauerkraut . . .
PBJ was a BIG let down!

Hawooski!

Got a pound of fried pepper sausage, 2 onions, and a head of cabbage frying up in an obscene amount of butter. Egg noodles incoming....

I grilled some of my 8yr old red stag I have been ageing 10days on ice in plastic bags in the ice chest today.Wow,very tender like choice beef.Seasoned with course black pepper, course sea salt and garlic powder.Shishkabobed with shallot, side of brussel sprouts and buttered carrots.Ageing the meat really makes a huge difference.

Tonight it was Corned Beef Sandwiches.
Drove to town just for the sauerkraut.
Dang I hate the "stove shrinkage" on a corned beef.

Just now, a small cheeseburger, green beans, boiled potatoes, and gravy. A quickie after church.

Heading to GA next month to quail hunt with Hatari and Jorge so using the last of last years hunt. I brined them and then marinated with Korean Bbq sauce and grilled them - Brussels with bacon on the side.

Lazy food this weekend... My son and I spent the last 2 1/2 days at the Dallas Safari Club Show as we have done for the past four years eating at the same places every year as they are all well within walking distance from where we stay and offer quality food. While blowing my 10 month effort of near zero carbs/sugar for the weekend it was Bob's Steak and Chop House for a New York Strip, creamed spinach, roasted potatoes and a couple of rye Old Fashioneds Friday night. Saturday night was at Cafe Herrera for grilled flank steak in a pretty heated red sauce with peppers, onions and tomatoes and a couple of Old Fashioneds. Breakfast today was corned beef hash and eggs and decaf coffee at Cindi's N.Y. Delicatessen Restaurant and Bakery. All delivering well with me pleased with continuing a tradition I hope to keep with my son for years to come.

Sicilian Lasagna, hours to make, but worth the effort. Made enough for a couple of meals.
