For sale Larry Brace Custom .338 WM.
I purchased this rifle years ago from Duke McCaa at Gulf Breeze Firearms with the intention of changing out the recoil pad to lengthen the LoP and take it on a bear hunt. Never went and it sat in my safe until I returned it to him to sell for me when I purchased another Dakota rifle from him. The following is his sales description of the rifle:
"Larry Brace Custom .338 Win. Mag., commercial FN Mauser action, English walnut stock with shadow line cheekpiece, quick tapered forearm w/ebony tip, wrap checkering on forearm and pistol grip that is 26 LPI, inletted sling swivels w/blind screws, two screw grip cap, elaborate bolt knob w/engraving, 13 1/8" LoP over a thin red Old English pad, stock is numbered "88" under action and matches the 22" barrel marked "L. Brace Gunmaker, No.88", barrel "1-61" which I suspect to be the manufacture date. (not sure of the make of barrel) that has a threaded muzzle for a muzzle break and thread protector. Good honest gun from a well known maker. $3,495".
Additional things not included in the above. The bluing shows wear on the on the bolt knob. There are some light safe scuff marks on the stock. I put 40 rounds of factory Win. 230gr Failsafes through it when I bought it. I don't know what the round count was previous to that. It shot well enough with the Failsafes that I never reloaded for it. Mr. Brace was a member of the ACGG and on it's board of directors at one time. I will weigh the rifle when I get back home tonight. Reason for sale - selling some of my safe queens.
I've have the rifle back from GBF. I'm offering it for $1750.00 obo shipped to your FFL (from an individual). I will give a 7 day inspection period of the rifle before depositing payment. If not satisfied in any way I will return payment. Payment with USPS MO or Cashiers check. Sorry no Paypal. Any questions can be pm'd to me.
Thanks.
