Tried one today. Anyone else tried one or know much about them? They have walnut stocks, choke tubes, and made in Turkey.

If this is related in any way with the individual who imported Hatfield SxS shotguns in the late 1980's, my advise is to run, not walk away. I have a horror story about late delivery, missing accessories, multiple mechanical malfunctions, and abysmal customer service. Seems this individual peddled fancy BP rifles for a time, until the wheels fell off that wagon. Please do your homework...

This seems to be new on the market. The fit, finish, appearance, function and handling seem great. Yesterday I emailed the company to inquire about one in 20 gauge. Very shortly I received a very pleasant email with the information. So far, so good.

Also the gun is made in Turkey, they look somewhat like a CZ.

Most of the Turkish semi autos seem to be almost identical in outward appearance. I have seen CZ, Tristar, Charles Daly, Escort, and Weatherby guns that seemed to be almost the same gun. Some have higher secifications though. I know Charles Daly cut corners on the locking blocks and had the manufacturer use pot metal locking blocks instead of forged blocks. The company got a bad rap from all the guns needing replacement locking blocks. Weatherby seemed to require the manufacturer to raise the quality. I would bet the Hatfield is similar.

I don't have to bet- paid my money, got the T-shirt.
Some can read sign, some can't.
Best of luck, regardless.

OK, looks like this and maybe some of my other stuff is just too lower quality. If I just give them away, pay shipping, pay FFL charges on your end, how much would I have to pay someone to get these off my hands?

Have seen a few from there break parts that had to be machined, parts no longer available.

Saw a yildiz with a bolt release so hard that you had to pull the bolt back a bit and then hit the button.

OTOH have seen a wtby thats been just fine...

Would not be my first choice, would certainly not buy one as an all around, and if I did, I'd sure consider it to be a disposable variety just in case..

Leon,

Yep. There are two ways companies order products made by another "vendor": They can take whatever product the vendor makes, with their name on the outside, or they can specify price-point and what features they want.

Most Americans assume anything made outside of the U.S., Germany and Japan is going to be cheap junk. (They used to feel the same way about Japanese products, until Japan started dominating the camera and car markets.) But in general, if a U.S. company uses a vendor outside of those three countries, then they're looking to sell products here for what customers would consider a "good deal." So they often order to a lower price-point, but that doesn't mean the vendor can't make good products.
