A buddy of mine is wanting to buy the Swarovski 12x50 els, but has not been able to find a definitive answer if the doubler is compatible. That is a deal-breaker for him if not.

Before he buys the binocular, hinging on if the doubler will fit, has he tried the doubler? He may not feel the quality is worth the expense of the binocular. Just something to think about and look into

Doug, what's your take on the Swaro 15x56 SLC vs. 12x50 EL for glassing deer at distance? Been contemplating, but the only local store that has Swarovski only has the 15's.

Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

If you are always going to bring a tripod with you the 15X is the way to go, if not stick with the 12x

I've used them both extensively and did a side by side comparison with them last year on a mule deer hunt in big country.

The ELs have better clarity, colors, and detail than the SLC 15's and as a plus can be used handhled much easier than the 15s, I don't feel you give up enough magnification to make a significant difference.
