Tell me, does Remington still make .17 Remington brass? I can only find it in Norma or Nosler.

Remington list several products on their website that are no longer in production.

I have not seen Remington .17Rem brass on any gun store website for a long time, although in saying that, it's sometimes listed but always unavailable.

I have noticed Norma are now making . 17 Remington brass and thought that might be because Remington stopped production ?

Lots of manufacturers are going to the 80/20 plan

80% of their sales are in 20% of their products, so focus on the 20% and keep profits high.

Many cartridges will go the way of the Do Do bird.

Just look at how Remington hardly ever introduces anything new, and does not even adapt to a changing market. I do believe that their new product development team does not even shoot.

Sadly you being in OZ there Dingo, you can't advantage of ordering after market brass stateside, I don't think it can be exported...

But some one on the campfire recommended a place called High Plains brass in Illinois.. they reform surplus once fired military brass into 17 Rem, and 17 Fireball, plus a few others...

I bought some and it was excellent.... they used Lake city brass, sized, cleaned, deprimed, annealed for $35 a 100 which I thought wasn't too bad... having taken the time to form some on my own.

I can buy Norma or Nosler .17 Rem brass easily enough here in Australia.

What I really wanted to know was, does Remington still make .17 Rem brass because it doesn't appear to have been available for years.

Remington makes more money off of loaded ammo than selling brass. Besides Rem and Win QC has been slim to non existent of late. Junky.

I have not seen ANY Remington brass up here for years.

If you are a .221 Fireball fanatic like me, you have few options.

I suppose I will switch to Norma, once I am through the couple thousand .221 Rem cases I have!

Seems Remington has chosen to get out of the brass marketing business mind you they still sell ammo in limited supply at an inflated price. Not sure if they are still making brass or if they are working off a stockpile. I had 17 fireball brass On back order for a couple years now.

Not sure if you see any Remington ammo over there though based on my observation if you want their brass buying the ammo is the only channel to acquire the brass.

Personally I think you be money ahead to just go the Nosler rout.

I'm pretty sure they still make it but when it rains it pours.

If I were new to the .17 Remington I'd buy every bag of every make I found.

good find! I have a couple of those squirreled away. I'm on my 4th loading with the current batch so I hope not to have to dip into them any time soon.

For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
