I love mine. Buffalo Rifle that points like a quail gun. What's not to love?
I found gun show deal on a Leupy M8 2.5 and stuck it on it. Far and away the darkest scope I own, but it works and looks fine.
Found out this past fall that 405 Remington JSP's at 1750fps. will kill a whitetail at 60 yards. But most here prolly knew that already wink. That's all it's taken as of yet.
So far, mine has liked 3031 with 405 Remington JSP's, Hornady flex tips (325's, I think), and 355 Cast Bullets out of a Ranch Dog mold.
Lee 405HB's and Unique are a HOOT!
IF I ever find the perfect mold (insert my opinion here), it'll get permanently weaned off on cast.
The Ruger has a super short (non-existant) throat, so getting some cast designs to work can be a bit of a challenge, but it also makes it wonderfully accurate, and, according to my chrony, a shade faster than what you would expect with a given load.

Buy one, you'll like it, and they ain't gettin' any cheaper!

Right now, I have two loads for the Ruger....I'm running the Remington 405 softpoint over RL7 or the Beartooth bullets 405 gaschecked hardcast over RL7.

I put a Leupold 2x7 to help with my old eyes! LOL

Going with the softpoints for Black bear this week in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.....

Here's a couple pics from a trailcam showing two of the bears visiting the bait site....hopefully on Saturday my Ruger #1 will get a chance to speak to one of them!

I anyone is interested, Cabelas Fort Mill has a No 1 in 45-70. Thought about going and looking at it, but I don't want a shoulder buster. Looked like it had pretty nice wood in the photos. Price is less than $1,000.

Fotis and Tex, you suck.

Frog, that bottom bear looks chunky! Any chance you will use the S&W?
