Looking for a tent to hunt out of for one person plus maybe my dog. Want some room to move around and to hook up heat/stove. Thinking a small wall tent. My concern is how easy is a wall tent to pitch for one person. Haven't put up one since the military and those were rather large. Not a right away thing but definitely for next year. I'm getting tired of hunting on farm land and moving out into some larger expansive state/fed/CFA land to get lost.

tipi would be where I"d start, especially with a dog.

SeekOutside LBO or Cimarron would be the first I'd look at.

I don't think you really need a stove but if you have to have a one, then a tipi is the most practical way to make that work.

These don't have a stove jack, so you have to install that yourself. You can buy a stove jack at LiteOutdoors, same as the stove.

Since this is in the backpacking forum, I'm guessing you will carry this on your back with other gear?

Can't say I've seen a wall tent that would work for that?

Teepee is where I'd look.

If you are going to pack with animals or a quad, Kodiak makes a 2 man canvas tent that looks like it could handle a stove.

FieldGrade here on the fire has posted about some smaller canvas tents he likes. Maybe PM him?

The best one man tent is a two man tent. I never had any trouble packing a Sierra Designs clip flashlight just for myself.

No heat option is a Six Moons Lunar Duo. Can't bring myself to try to put a small stove in the six moon fly.

Everybody seems to like the Kodiak Canvas tents, for a non-packable canvas tent. They look like a great alternative to a smaller wall tent.

If you are looking for a packable tent, there are a lot of options. For heat, that kind of goes in the direction of floorless.

I have a 6-man tipi from Seek Outside. It is a palace for one, more than needed really, but I like being able to walk in, versus crawl in. The tipi is only 5.8 lbs all-in. Big enough for a big cot, but still packable. If you are not going too far or steep it is nice. If you are doing spec-ops deep-recon type mileage (grin), something smaller/lighter would be better.

I picked up a Kodiak canvas 10x10 for this years camp...I spent 13 days in it and loved it...Plenty of Head room... Easy to heat with a Buddy Heater and a 20 pound tank..Ran the Heater on low with a window cracked....Warm and cozy no condensation, a full tank will last 7 days running the heat about 11 hours a day.....Hell!! I did not want to leave camp this year..Tent was on sale for 380 bucks shipped. Best 380 I ever spent...

Take a look at ak tarp and tent . They sell a small wall tent made of Vapex.
It weights 20 lbs. you could make a frame out of 2x2's and it will take a stove...
