I've got a Miroku 1892 in .45 colt that currently has a rifle style butstock (no pistol grip), and I'd like to replace it with a shotgun style stock to eliminate the rather unfortunte pointy buttplate. Any idea where I could get such a stock, especially a drop in? Somewhat figured wood to match the forearm would be preferred, but is not required.

I like mine. I put one of this on it and you can put a little 'foam' inside before putting it on if it helps ya.

There's some cool stuff there. I'll look through it.

He really does very nice work. Submit your order and wait. He'll get it to you and if he has a question, he'll email you.

I don't think I've waited more than a month for one. By the by, the 92 I have it on is the 44 magnum.

You've sold me!

I bought a "rough rider" model, a crescent to shotgun conversion, and a lever wrap for my 1886. Now I wait...

I looked real hard at the .44mag since I have a model 29 revolver, but ultimately I decided I wanted the softball jacketed loads available in .45 colt.

Oh, are you using the factory issued sights on yours? I had to remove that skinny, gold bead front sight on mine.

I now have a big ass white bead up front. I wish it was drilled for an aperture sight.

The factory sights are pretty lame.

This gun is really a plinker and trainer for my .45-90 1886 dangerous game gun. So it's going to end up with the same sight setup - a Skinner barrel mounted peep sight with the aperture removed, and a Skinner ramp front sight with the blade painted orange. Nothing remotely original or western about it, but it's what my eyes can see. It's a unexpectedly accurate setup too - I've shot sub-MOA 100y groups with it on the 1886. I'm doubting the 1892 will be inherently accurate enough to shoot like that though.

I haven't played with the Skinner barrel mounted peep, but I think I need to try one.

The Skinner barrel peep sight is cool, but I think Skinner's a little off base with the aperture sizes. The largest available one was pretty small for the front sight but might have target applications. The peep with no aperture (just bare threads) was about right - still small enough to shoot more or less the capability of the rifle IMO but faster for dangerous stuff.

The smaller ones strike me as completely useless, or maybe for exceedingly long barrels. But my 1886 has a 26" so there's a limit to how much longer a barrel you'll see. I think they just didn't field test it or else someone at Skinner has much better eyes than me.
