down to 65 or so already, as of last report.

Assuming they are a mirror image of the short RH version.

I'm waiting for Davidsons to jump on a SS LH run with a factory brake included. Randy's says it will never happen, but it would just mean competition for his guns, so I don't put much basis on that claim.

16" barrels on high powered rifles never thrilled me much - or rather they didn't thrill my chronograph but overthrilled my ears - but in a high expansion ratio case like this a short barrel makes a good match. 2200 fps with a 250 grain bullet is definitely .444 Marlin territory.

Had to look this up and apparently Randy's was the one that went to Ruger asking them to chamber this in a factory rifle.

Btw, check out the group at the end of this video starting around the 5:00 minute mark. Two shots each at 100, 200 and 300 with a total 6 shot group into 2". Pretty amazing. wink

Unless more states that are shotgun only come up with laws that 450 BM can be use there's not a big market for them....we wouldn't be seeing any if it wasn't for Michigan Limited Rifle Zone (Shotgun Zone) 35 caliber or larger straight wall maximum length 1.8"......

Ohio is looking to change there list of cartridges to in include 35 - 50 caliber straight wall.....

I've been asking Ruger for a couple years to make left hand American Ranch in 223, 300 BO and 308.....was really surprised that they put out 100 in 450 BM....

Randy has sold about 2000 Ruger 450 BM's......

For the right handers he going to have 16" threaded with brake, FDE stock for $399 sometime in June....there's several gun dealer here in Michigan taking pre orders for them....from $419-$529....Rugers MSRP is $599......

There's a custom bullet maker here in Michigan making .452" 250gr. Bonded bullet for single shot and bolt action.....

Was really thinking of picking one up, but just built a .450BM AR because the last time I talked to Randy he didn't think he'd see any leftys for quite sometime, if ever.

In addition to the above, Michigan has to decide this year on the rifle law for the limited zone. It will either be kept as is, taken off completely, or modified. So, there is a slight risk in buying a 450 at this point for southern Michigan hunting.

The proposed law for Ohio makes the most sense of all that I have heard. They currently can use only guns chambered with one of their approved list of cartridges.

Here in Michigan it is currently set up like Indiana. No cartridges listed, but goes by case length, with a max of 1.8".

Indiana had that, and then added now ANY .243 or .308 cartridges are legal for private land. Talk about a screwed up mess. If you have a .260 or 270, you are SOL. I wouldn't mind a similar provision for Michigan, based on property size. If you are hunting on farms or large acreage downstate, you shouldn't be banned from using guns that anyone can use on a 20 acre parcel north of a certain road on a map.

I can now legally use a muzzleloader loaded to 45-70 ballistics, or a 45-70, if I trim the brass down to 1.8". But, I can't use a 45-70 with a full length load. Might as well say that duck hunters can only use 2 3/4" shells, because they are less "dangerous".

You can also use a 375 win., 444 Marlin, 450 Marlin, 45-70 or any other straight wall over 35 caliber in a handgun in Michigan even when it was the Shotgun Zone....no restriction on case length with a handgun......

Yeah, that law needs some serious reworking, by someone that actually knows which end of a gun a bullet comes out of
