Yes, Melvin's stock is the best but looking for a more cost effective option b4 he gets the job. Has anyone used a Bansner Sheephunter or the new lightweight B&C successfully?

Spring for the NULA stock.

It is obviously a perfect fit, and a pretty good value. I think it was around $450. Less than an Edge or a regular McM for that matter. Are the Bansner's that much cheaper? Don't they come unfinished too?

I have one on a CLR in 7RM. The original stock isn't bad. I hunted it for years before getting the NULA. Big improvement.

+1 Bansners will be in the 600+ when the smoke clears as will the edge

NULA is the best choice. You could adapt a Ti Alaskan from stockys for a cheap alternative but it will have a fair amount of bedding showing.

MPI will get close to the weight of a NULA stock but will probably cost more when all is finished.

The NULA stock has the best stiffness to weight ratio of any stock I have handled. High Tech and Brown come close but not bettering the NULA. Have not seen a Manners stock so don't know how that compares.

...and if you send it to Mr. Forbes it's going to come back with a perfect full length bedding job and the paint you request. It's the best deal going.

+100

Can't say enough good things about his stock and it's recoil mitigating properties add in his full length bedding that makes just about any load shoot to the same poi or darn close and I can't see buying anything else!
