Could use some feedback here folks,

Heading off in a few weeks to a week of scuba diving. It's time I take my own photos rather than relying on others.

The 2 obvious choices are mentioned above, real difference is price.

Gopro with case about 450, Sealife 700.

I'm old school, and think that with the Sealife, I could take the camera out of the underwater housing and have a great camera for general use,

of course Smartphones have delegated Cameras to objects that collect dust, and I'm not sure I need to drop 700 on a camera at this time.

The popularity of the Gopro is obvious, and even though I consider it a video device, Gopros apparently take very good photos.

Any thoughts?

Have no experience with Sealife. Not impressed at all with Gopro's resolution or image distortion. Essentially no exposure control either.
