I am looking for some advice on mounting a Lyman All American Perma Center. I have a set of Stith mounts for a Model 70. According to the original box, they are the QED mounts for a Weaver K4 or KV, which as I am sure most of you know are 1” tube scopes. My question is this……does anyone know if these Stith QED mounts will work with a Lyman All American Perma Center 2.5x (straight tube) or 6x scope since both have 1” tube diameter?

Most of the other Stith mounts I have seen with a Weaver 330, Lyman Alaskan, Lyman Perma Center, or other straight tube scopes have a much longer Stith front mount tube for the scope.

The QED front mount tube that I have is very short, and I am concerned that a little Perma Center 2.5x scope won't be long enough to work with this type of QED mount.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.

Let me preface this with the fact that I have not worked with stith mounts specifically. So there is a chance I am wrong, but I believe that some of those older mounting systems like the weaver k6 required you to disassemble the scope to slip the rings on the main tube, so as long as you can take the get the rings on the scope and it's the same diameter as the weaver I don't see why you couldn't put that scope on the rifle.

I have a stith and a Balvar 6x that I just removed from a model 70. The scope rings do not need to have the scope disassembled to mount it
