The CDS knobs are awesome...as long as they are marked in standard graduations, i.e. Mil or MOA. The low profile design is great.

19.0 ounces for the 3-15...
I'm thinking these are very similar to the discontinued VX-6.

Just one more reason to avoid Leupold for any scope you plan on twisting turrets. What a ridiculous design.

Got a first hand look at the new VX5HD today. 3-15x44 version.

Glass is clear and crisp. Tube length forward of the turret may be an issue on some rifles - same with the VX6HD. Very short, maybe 1 1/2" with a long taper to the objective. ZL2 turret is pretty crisp, though this particular model didn't live up to the claim of 2 full rotations. Came up about 8 clicks shy of 2 full rotations.

I would imagine 32 MOA will be enough anyway, maybe.

I'm hoping the turrets on the VX6HD are crisp. I'll have a 3-18x44 tomorrow, I had the same scope in the regular VX6 line and was pretty dissapointed in the mushy feel of the turrets.

Has anyone else looked thru one? What would you compare the glass quality to?

Spot on... crazy

Leupold seems to become more of a marketing company as time passes. Although the same could be said for a lot of companies, I suppose.
