My new one was built by Nick Hughes and James Anderson doing the metal work, Jim Kobe doing the stock, and the late Tommy Kaye. It is on a 1917 Enfield. It has extended tangs, Wiebe bottom metal, Shilen barrel, unknown 3 pos safety and trigger. I think the guys did a wonderful job.

That looks wonderful. I have a nice Bastogne blank here. Keep thinking about having a big gun built for it. A .416 or .375 keeps coming to mind.

You just have to quit posting pictures of that rifle all over the Internet! It is about the nicest Enfield I've seen in all respects.
After reading retiring I'm trying really hard to stay away from things that cost a lot of money and you seem to have a very nice collection of rifles that Put evil thoughts in my head and I do have a clean Remington made 1917 that the wants to be made into something.

Now, if it's been "bubba" smithed, ears ground off, etc., then a donor. If not and in good shape, ditto Butch's advice. You can spend a LOT of money doing a full house job like that. Just for the bucks, get a .416 Rigby CZ, if not fancy enough, get AHR to fix it up. I think that would be less expensive than what Butch did. Maybe not as pretty, but nice. Butch, that gun is almost too pretty to take hunting... DF

Are you going to scope it? Yes sir, The custom bases are for the CZ rings. I have both a 1" and 30MM Alaska Arms quick disconnect rings.

Absolutely beautiful rifle. Nothing more can be said really.
You'll probably never NEED a gun. In fact I hope you never do. BUT IF you do, you will probably need it worse than anything you've ever needed before in your life...

Butch sure is a hard guy to keep up with, rifle-wise! :-) Jon, I will start on a different course. I was gifted with a new Eliseo Tube Gun kit.It is the RTS target model. http://www.gotxring.com/high-power/I will be looking for a SA 700 receiver and chamber it in 308. I have not a clue what I will do with it. I do have a lot of Grandsons.

Awesome. Safety is probably Ed LaPour. Actually no, Ed was retooling his Enfield safeties when I was doing mine. It was put together from the million dollar drawer. You know the drawer that you throw things into when cleaning up. I do have several of Ed's and they are top notch.

Man, I made a big mistake in my first post. Jim Kobe has done several stocks for me, but this was done by James Anderson. Both are great stockmakers.
