That's a beautiful rifle. I love my Browning but those old Winchesters are ultra cool.

Once saw a Winchester 95 in .405 Winchester that had been cut down to 20", peepsight and a barrel band front swivel...

Have also been trying to trade a friend out his Marlin 336 Texan in .30-30...straight stock, 18" barrel...to convert to .414 SuperMag...

Had mine for several years now. Marlin Guide Gun in 45/70 with the nicest wood I've seen on a factory Marlin. Killed several deer and pigs. Always the first one out at beginning of season. Improved it this year with a leupy 1X4. Gould hollowpoint or a fp 405 are my fave bullets. 1600fps has devastated everything I've pointed it at.

Model 71 in 348 Winchester. My "dream" was fulfilled when my dad gave me his early deluxe long tang.

Neither of these are true "dream" rifles, and they sure ain't traditional, but I could have fun with the following two.

I don't think this one ever went into production:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Marlin-1894CSBL-357-Lever-Action-Rifle-16-Laminated-Hardwood/19232207

Another I could enjoy would be a stainless BLR, pistol grip, take down, in .223 with a 1/8 or 1/7 twist and a 2.5" oal mag.

The Sako Finwolf in 243, I had one and broke it into pieces. A Savage 99 in 250-3000 because it was the favorite of Alaska's Wolfman. My GG in 45-70 is pretty sweet.

Well seeing its dream time

A new savage 99 take down with swap barrels in 7.62x39 and 221 fireball, if bolt face is a problem then we will swap out the 221 f.b. for 22 PPC. Forgot, Savage need to build on an action similar but modernized for the short case similar to the prototype 32-20.

Once upon a time, it was the same for me. No longer. Too big, heavy and the 348 is a bastard cartridge.

Mine would be a Winchester Model 64, preferably the deluxe version, in 25/35.

Agreed. A friend had a 71 in .348 and it was all of those things. Also, he also didn't reload and the factory ammo was expensive with lousy bullets.

A 25/35 would be very cool, but today I'd probably just roll with a 99 in 243 or 7-08.

I have mine, at least until I run into one that I didn't consider:

Browning BLR in 358 Win

Marlin 336 rifle with short magazine in 35 Rem

Savage 1899/99 in 38/55, 25/35, 300 Savage, 250/3000, and 22 High Power

One I didn't know would be a dream but became one:

Winchester 1876 in 45/60 made in 1881. I liked enough I bought a Uberti replica to shoot and lent the original to the Buffalo Bill Museum.

A work in progress:

Savage 99 rebarreled to 219 Zipper. 1:8" twist to handle heavy bullets. Have a blank to do a new stock, just need to find someone to do the job.
