My 14 year old's first whitetail, a nice little Tennessee forkhorn.

Details:
Her 70 Classic Featherweight 6.5x55, Redneck shortened to fit her & worked his other magic on.
Older Swaro 1.5-6x42 with #4 in Dual Dovetails that is just about perfect for here.
She loads 100gr NBT, 42.0gr Varget, & Lupua brass (GunLooney88's low recoil recipe) and practiced a lot.
Low heart shot at about 45 yards, and it ran maybe 45 yards more.

We had a great time, and words just can't express how happy I am that she was successful this year!!

Actually 2017 kills but it was the first weekend finishing up the season with a plump doe for the freezer and a bonus kill for a little predator control.

Love seeing "big guns" being put to good use on "every day game." I've been known to carry a .404 Jeffery and a .411 KDF....

Big or small I like them all:) I have deer hunted with a 375, 450/400 NE, 416 Taylor and a 500 BPE double rifle. My favorite caliber however is the 7X57/275 Rigby.
