I recently ordered two sets of strings and cables.

One set was from 60X for my wife's Cabela's/Diamond Instigator. They came in very well made and in spec. No peep twist once set up for her smaller stature and short draw...they tuned right in and are certainly a faster string than stock. And they had a 15% off code when I ordered them on Easter Sunday.

The second set I ordered were from First String. These came in and were a real mess. The top 1/2 of the string was not twisted in at all. I also have noticed, after shooting about 150 arrows, that there wasn't a good pre stretch effort applied as my peep is migrating around the string about 90º. I will continue to shoot the string in and adjust accordingly after them seem good and settled. The cable came in perfect. Smooth, clean twists and no tune issues there.

Has anyone else has less than favorable results from First String? I got them steeply discounted, so I am not overly concerned...however these are the strings I am supposed to recommend to customers, butI have troubles with that seeing how well the 60X showed up.

Thanks for the info!

I have never used first string, but I have used several sets of 60X on my family's own and friends bows and it's all I will ever use now .

You havent had top notch strings until you try Hogwire Custom Strings. All i use in my shop. Have installed probably 300 sets so far for customers. Great quality. I like knowing 1 person touches my strings. And its the same person each and every time. Ive seen a lot of "custom strings" come thru on many different bows. And they just dont compare

60X are great strings at a fair price. Multiple times better than stock strings that came on my obsession.

I really liked the 60X. They were excellent. The FirstString were none too impressive. Another set came in and they (FirstString) were a bit goobered up as well. Some of the end serving was very heavy with some lumps and bumps. One more set has been ordered by an employee...I haven't high hopes for them. The 60X are just too darn easy and clean to look past.

I ordered string and cables from 60X three days ago, Friday after work and they shipped today.

That's surprising to me because the local shop was ten days to two weeks out and $30 more.

I like to support the local businesses but sometimes it's easier to go to the specialists.

I have had great luck with 60X recurve strings. Have not changed the strings/cables on any of the last 3 compounds I have owned. Hoyt stock strings have been very good in recent years.
