"I have never seen anyone get slide bite from a glock? so the beavertails are silly IMO."

Just because I have never seen Bigfoot doesn't mean he doesn't exist.

I prefer the new mag release over previous gens and like the beaver tail. I will never like finger grooves.

I am down to 2 Glocks, a Gen. 3 Model 19 and a Gen. 4 Model 21. I bought the Model 21 used so it did not have all those replacement panels you can fit to adjust to your hands but seems fine in my hand, got 3 mags and a savings of $100.00 on a gun that looked totally new. The big difference is that my Gen. 3 has a drop in recoil buffer and the Gen. 4 has a duel spring setup, cannot put in a recoil buffer.

The other difference is I always put in one of those sheet metal trigger connectors to reduce the trigger pull weight, helped on my Gen. 3 and other gen. 3 Glocks I owned in the past, had no effect on my Gen. 4, trigger still has factory weight.

Yes and you are entitled to your opinion also. What is your point?
Have you ever received slide bite from a Glock?

I got a gen 3 m17 and a gen 4 m35. I like the mag release on the 35, but other than that, Meh.

I do not suffer but have a friend that does. He would be bleeding during every session.

I wonder if the gen4 small guns like the G27 are a good option? I know I did not like the gen4 model 17 I had briefly, need to rent a G27.

Every once in a while I will get slide byte with my GEN 3 Glocks. This does not happen enough for me to desire backstraps.

Most people that prefer Gen 3s over Gen 4s are the ones who own gen 3s or 2s...The Gen 4s are the best Glocks yet...

I like Gen2 G19s. The older the better.

I like Gen4 Glocks over Gen3 because newer is better.
And that's why I already like Gen5 Glocks over Gen4.

Bought my second Glock yesterday, a G23 .40 S&W Gen 3, lightly used. The other was a G20 10mm. Never had a problem with "slide bite" on the 10mm, but I've never been bit by a 1911 slide, either. First shot today with the G23, got a cut on my support hand thumb, across the knuckle. My fault, wasn't paying attention to my grip. Won't happen again, was not the pistol's fault.

A bit off subject, but I bought this gun for suppressor testing, as it had a threaded barrel - AND IT APPEARS TO BE THREADED FROM GLOCK. My suppressor will not screw on. Checked all over the place, seems that Glock uses metric threading. G23 is M14.5 x 1 LH, according to Glock. Now I have to find an adaptor!

Were you shooting with your support thumb behind the slide? That's a pretty basic beginner's mistake.

Yes, all of Glocks factory threaded barrels use metric left hand threads, not US industry standard inch threads. I think that's a poor decision on Glock's part for the US market, but helps support the aftermarket barrel companies.

I also had trouble working and reaching the Gen 3 mag release, with out changing my grip just a tad.

Didnt get better when I added a beavertail to it,

So heres what I done.

I took a q-tip with a little graphite Gun Slick on it, and put it down on the metal of the mag release and worked it back and forth a bit.

I also took the qtip which was just covered, but not wet with graphite, and rubbed it on the corners of the magazines. Its black and the mags are black, and I didnt put enough on there to come off on your hand, just enough to work into the layer of plastic.

pretty slick nah, comes shootin out like chit thru a goose- empty or full- and easier to work the release.
