do you mean your wheels ? if you use any kind of tire dressing it may cause
minor corrosion if too much is used and not wiped from the wheel surface.
if the clear coat gets scratched the aluminum may get minor corrosion also.

there is such a difference in materials these days that it is hard to judge just what materials they are made of . My son has a TRD toyota and one would think the wheels were made of solid aluminum when in fact they are some sort of powder coat which has disintegrated.

If you live in any of the salt belt states, the salt will get in between your tire bead and rim and start to corrode the aluminum. Take your truck to a tire shop and tell l them to clean the rims and seal your beads.

My 2003 GMC has polished aluminum factory rims and they have corrosion in areas where wheel weights were removed. No air leaking with these yet.

My 2011 Cruze has one factory aluminum rim that the bead has corroded on and it leaks. We tried a coating at the local tire shop and it lasts about six months. Don't know what the stuff it is. This leakage started in 2013 and two sets of tires later it is still a problem. The other three rims are fine so far. Chevrolet dealer says they are not aware of this problem but the place I buy most of my tires says it is happening on a lot of cars. Where I live the county started using salt to sand the roads about the same time so that could be it but a lot of the tire shop customers live in Wyoming and Montana and rural areas where they don't use salt. He blames rough castings and poor quality polishing.

Yeah they are putting lipstick on a pig in most cases. The "Chrome" wheels on my 2016 F150 prime case, Vapor deposit over cast aluminum wheels, and for what they cost I would expect at least a machined aluminum wheel with that PVD finish. They put clearcoat on top of the finish how long will that hold up?
