I am getting a bit older. Need to replace my factory front sight on an about 97-98 year New Haven Super Express 375 H&H mag M70. Just replace the dovetail part, not the whole front site. I want just basically a slightly larger front dot or post. Maybe ivory? Or the brass that's on there now, just a touch bigger. The current sights shoot perfect for me. Not wanting higher or lower size. What are my options on a dovetail replacement?! Saw New England gun only sell non dovetails. Tru Glo? If I had to do a fiber optic that would be OK, just want to keep it "old school" if possible. And as close to looking stock as possible. Thanks for any input.

Have a fiber optic on mine. Since the rifle has a scope,it's never used.

When I was gently tapping out my sight from its base on my New Haven 416 Rem the base left with the blade. A single screw with just a couple of threads engagement... Some years earlier Jim Wisner was unloading some banded, dovetailed front sights at a reasonable price so I bought a few. Bingo. The gent above has shot this rifle open sighted. I seem to recall he liked it.

Yeah, one of those should fit. I laughing(not at EdM) cause I could see myself doing the exact same thing. Tapping the dovetail, and poohf!! Of goes the whole front sight. Thank you. Nice to know to take off the front site first. Wanting ivory. Well, may settle for the Williams or Lymnan.
