My only response to anyone who would tell me that these guns are wasted on a non-hunter is that they might be right.

Nice rifles in nice shape. I really like that fwt. .270! Is the Savage a 99 rotary magazine? Chambered for?

I don't know the caliber of the 99 but it is for sure a rotary magazine!

You collect these wonderful rifles and take extremely good care of them. I have no qualms with you not being a hunter. I actually prefer hunting my m1917's, but don't tell anyone...

They are your property. As long as you are safe and legal, @#$%! Them. Its your guns. Actually, a non hunter probably won't beat up his rifle as much since he ain't out in the woods, brush. P.S. I WANT your Roberts! Nice rifle. Thank you for sharing. I got in the Winchester game to late in the game. Playing catchup.

The point of his post is to show off his collection, of which he is justifiably proud, to other enthusiasts. Probably many others on here that do the same, though most won't be up front about not hunting.

tmitch, it's always fun showing off your collection and how each one of them shoots. I have no qualms with a person wanting to share with others. Who I don't like are the ones that cry about someone posting too many pictures of their prized possessions and how they shoot... I say post as many pictures of what you got, you only live once. Have fun with it.... wink

Post away!!! I am doing both a 7x57 Mauser project and a 6.5x55 Swede makeover on the pawn shop score I got. I will be showing plenty of pictures. Some will critique some will😀! Be proud! Show off your babies. We ALL can learn from some other dudes collection or pictures or story. I am just a bit Leary of gunpowder stats.

When I go to the trap range I bring a 1927 Ithaca 4E
I am sure I could hit more birds with a new gun but it would not be as much fun

On the other hand, if I was inclined to invest my time and money in a hunt for live game I would be hard pressed to decide between one of my vintage rifles and a lightweight modern rifle topped with a modern scope.
