I have a model 1894 daisy bb gun from the sixties that's in nice shape and although everything seems to work like it should when fired the bb pretty much rolls out of the barrel. Is this something that could be fixed or is it a parts gun or wall hanger? Great shape for it's age, but not working.

I had 1 of those, Traded it for a Crosman V350, Go to GTA International website. Daisy Forum and ask the ?. Lots of good knowledgeable people there. Just guessing, but it probably has a broken or worn out spring. I'm sure one can be found.

When my Daisy would lose its (probably should be "loose it's" to conform to 'fire standards) poop, Dad would take out the barrel insert and dump kerosene down the barrel. He said that the leather washers dried out and that the kerosene swelled them back up. I have no idea as to the correctness of this, but it always shot great after he did it. Things being what they are, it probably should not be recommended.

Or... a drop or two of sewing machine oil down the bore -- a very low viscosity oil. It'll form an air seal around the BB without impeding its travel via friction very much. Should increase velocity…

Worked for me back in the day...about 1890.

Ok, not quite that far back. 😀

sounds like a bad piston seal. Most likely shrunken and cracked from age. Oil ain't gonna fix that. A new seal will. Dennis Baker at bakerairguns.com can most likely fix it or has the seal kit you need to do it yourself.
