I've been looking around using the search but have been unable to find anything.

Does anyone have any pet loads, tips, advice, etc... on reloading for a 35 Remington?

Lever or pump, it doesn't matter. I'll take tips and advice for both.

I was dinking around with the .35 Remington in a Marlin 336 a couple of years ago. I found that 40-42 grains of IMR 4064, IMR 4320 or IMR 4895 worked well with a 180 grain Flat Point, while the 220 grain FPs shot best with about 37.0 grains of either 4064 or 4895. Never got around to using it on game. Drop down a couple of grains and work your way up.

Thank you Mudhen, I appreciate the information. I will most certainly heed your warning and start out low.

My old sears liked H4895 and 200 RN, I think were Hornady.

My main load for a Marlin 336-A 24 inch is....41.0 of Hodgdon LVR with the Hornady 200 gr FTX. I also load the Sierra 200 gr round nose bullet since the Remington 35 200 gr core-lokt is totally un-available.

" Marlinowners " is probably the best source of info. The link 10gauge gave you is invaluable. The writer of that thread has a TON of research data on the 35.

That's what I use in my Rem 141 and my Marlin 336.

I prefer classic.

I have had good success with the 180 grain Speer FP over 40.5 grains of H4895 in a couple of Marlin 336s and a Remington 760. In the Remington 141 I cut back to 39.0 grains of H4895.

Thanks 260, I appreciate it. I want to try to use a common powder that I already have and H4895 is one of those.

Since you have a can of H-4895 try 38.0 or 38.5 of H-4895 using the Sierra .35 200 gr soft point. If that load doesn't shoot then go to imr-3031 or Hodgdon "LVR"

I have a 35 Rem in a Contender. H322 for 180's, H4895 is your friend for 200 - 220.
