I just stumbled into a vintage Kuharsky Bros. scope base with the plunger rings. The application code on the bottom of the base is "MV". Does anyone have any idea what this will fit?
Thanks in advance, Mike...

It looks like a 1-piece mount for a bolt action rifle, maybe a Remington 700 or Winchester 70. I sent you a PM with the contact information for Fred Warren, THE expert on all things related to the B&L Balvar series of externally adjusted scopes, rings, and bases.
EDIT: Could "MV" = Weatherby Mark V? 'Just a guess.

Those Mounts had the windage and elevation built into the mount. Most scopes back in The Day did not have those adjustments built in.The big selling point was you could have as many Rifles as you wanted with those mounts and zero them all in ,and only need one scope. They were made for most Rifles available at that time.Mid 60`s and before. Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience

Brings back memories... Kuharski Bros was 3 doors down from my fathers Engine rebuilding shop on 12th St in Erie, Pa.

Right by the Star drive in theater! Had the big gun on the roof. Bought my Remington 581 there...1972, I think.

I had a couple of those old, non adjustable B&L scopes. And used a couple of others. I have very clear memories of what a pain those mounts were to adjust. While fairly tough, I've seen them put out of action by a hard fall on the scope. The scope would be fine, but the spring loaded locking pin would bend too much.... You can't run fast enough to give me a set of those mounts. If you want a tough setup, such mounts are available. I have several. E

E If you want to sell, or donate, your B&L adjustable bases, you should post what you have in the free classified ads. I know that there are people looking for Winchester 70 bases and either plunger or spring rings.
