I like a .410, but .410 deer slugs cost as much as 12ga. Sabotslugs. (And they are harder to find in stores, and NEVER go on sale)

What do folks use slugs for in the 410? I have a few boxes, some of the rare factory stuff I do have, but have never used it, and not sure where it came from, not sure of its intended use.

Itty, bitty eastern whitetails hunted by kids whose Dads don't know any better. Also, they are OK for killing halibut. Power level close to a .38 Special. Ed

They do just fine killing 8pt whitetail deer, at least for those of us who know shot placement is more important than the size of the hole. Just think of it as a .45 on steroids.

1/4 once of lead at close to 2000 fps is pretty powerful at close range (41 Magnum handgun power class). Too expensive for plinking though. http://mcb-homis.com/slug_410/slugtest/
