I'd say he achieved the well worn look. Interesting! I believe its an early 60's model and the lever had tension issues, got it out last night and let my daughter shoot it (she won't do that again). Got her functioning like new. I like to take this gun out when the Florida rains come (alot here) and now it's even more protected. It had a finish probably 85% so it was a beautiful gun but I wanted something different and since I bought it a few years back (didn't have hand me down sentimental value) I was scheming on what I was going to do. Now there is alot of $$$ invested in this weapon so it will be a piece that will stay with me until the kids pry it out of my dead hands....

I read a little blurb on the battle worn look that you spray and bake the base coat. Then spray the next and rub it or wear it as you see fit, then bake that one, etc...

How did he achieve the worn look? That, I couldn't help ya with. I haven't a clue. He has several styles and colors he has done. If you have FB, he's got a page https://www.facebook.com/madd1911/ you can see some of his work....

You know, you could always just use it 10 or 20years, leave it out in the rain and sun, scrape off the rust once in a while - and you wouldn't have to pay anyone!

Yeah, my 336SC already looks like that, and it didn't cost me to get it done that way. That's the way I bought it.

did you do that to make the POS scope match??????? Yeah, I had a Meopta on top but it was a little over kill...I don't use the rifle much, just usually my bad weather gun so I put a crappy simmons on it. Better then the fixed power that was on it.

My '67 Glenfield 30 wears a Weaver 3x from '73 ( took it off an Octagon). IMHO, it mates up nicely. But, I started out using scopes in the '60s with a 2 1/2X. Before next season, I intend to replace the El Paso Weaver with a nice 3X Leupold that I picked up a while back, to shave a few ounces off the rig.
I like the Glenfield so well that I bought a set of presentation grade wood for it a while back. Need to fit and finish the wood.
Best,
Jack
