This 2013 Toyota FJ is my hunting, fishing, going to church and work vehicle. Being the only one I have, it gets to do it all. Hope it holds up, cause I really like it and they quit making them last year.

153,000 miles, 4.0 liter 6-cylinder, auto, air, power windows, etc - no roughing it here. The only thing that has ever been done to it is the installation of a 1-1/2 inch lift kit .
It usually has a roof carrier on it with a high-lift, pulaski, shovel, and some extra fuel.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Not that a Samurai has power, but did you notice a gain with the Harley carb? After regearing and bigger tires the Harley carb is my next move. I'm thinking about going to a My-Side 2 with a 44mm Harley carb.

I used the myside 1 conversion. I went ahead and got the kit that included the carb that was already set up correclty. I costs more than just finding a used Harley carb, but it was worth it to me. It came with every part needed including the fuel line filters, manual choke, throttle cable end, brackets, hoses, clamps etc. I'm not a mechanic in any sense of the word, and I followed the directions and installed it quite easily.

My factory carb was a mess so yes I got quite a power boost. I can go 75 on the hwy and it will climb straight up without stalling. The manual choke is great. Fires right up in the winter and I also pull it out when I want to just crawl up a hill in low range.

Samurais are awesome. They are cheaper to buy and maintain than a UTV/Side by side. street legal, have heaters and will go anywhere.

Thanks for the info. I like my Corolla carb but I really like the simplicity of a Harley carb. Looks like a My-Side is on the horizon.

When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

For a few years I had a lot of fun waterfowl hunting with this rig.
Dog in my avatar seemed to want to drive.

Instead of the Harley carb check out a Mikuni replacement for Harleys. I have a friend that was the lead marketing guy on them for Mikuni. He is a pretty good carb guy and did a lot of his own testing of it.

Hanco, I had one just like that. Same color. But my top was tan.

It was the first.

Then and all black one. Next was a goldish tan one.

I think I'm done with Wranglers now. wink

The original top was tan. I had a 47, 58, 76, and this 89. This will probably be my last one. Jeeps are rough, you have to go slow because it's so rough, and the older you get, the harder to get in and out of. Ranger will go four times as fast in the rocks. You have to run jeep in low-low or you will get beat to death. The only plus is the heater, but I don't have to go far to get to any of my stands. I drive jeep to work most days. The jeep is great on my East Texas lease. It's all crushed rock roads. That jeep has been good, I've done little work to it. People constantly ask if it's for sale.

This old piece of crap is the chuckwagon for feeding the elk hunting crew.
It doesn't get much love (although it did get a set of tires last weekend).
I pretty much drive it like I stole it.
It has caught fire 3 times - once under the dash, once in the kitchen, and once under the hood.
One year returning from a hunt I lost the forward gears on the summit of Monarch Pass. I didn't want to wait there for a tow and was able to coast 18 miles into Poncha Springs (it was a whole lot like that CW McCall song).
This photo is just below treeline at about 11,500 ft. We were chasing elk above treeline in the San Juan's that year.
