I have an engraved 99F made in 1958. There is some info indicating that a few 99s were engraved during this period. Wondering if any other collectors have one of these or have info about them. The engraving on mine is on receiver sides only and is similar to 99K engraving.

Cool, I've never seen one and didn't think they did any engraving in that period. Some one will be along shortly that knows more than I. Pics would be really nice, Joe.

Murray's book lists the DE and PE from 65-70 as the first engraved models since the K ended in 41. Much info has surfaced since his last edition was printed, Joe.

This will get you started. Might be some more. You can search. Please PM me the serial for my records and I will tell you where the other serials I have fall in relation to yours. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...engraved-chicopee-falls-99f#Post11599189

Thanks for reply and info. I was unsure when I purchased it and had Effie at Savage Arms letter it and she said no record of engraving on this gun. It is exactly like the one that sold at auction except mine has amazing figured walnut. Serial # 928 xxx.if I can figure out how to I will post some photos. Another interesting thing is the gun was built in 1958 and left the factory July 1965.

Welcome to the forum. You can't just post something like this without pictures. We'd love to see the rifle in question.

Would like to post photos but I'm not having much luck with uploading them from the photo bucket. Seems like a complicated system for uploading photos. Any thoughts?

Bring up PB in one window. Start your post on the campfire in another window. Go back to PB and bring up your picture. The bottom choice on the right is IMG. Click on that and it with light up yellow and say copied. Go back to your post on the camp fire and hit enter so the blinking line will be below your text. Then push the control button, Ctrl, and the v button and it will post the picture. No need to copy and paste. You can copy and paste, I just find hitting Control v easier and faster, Joe.

My picture is a little small. Is that roll stamped? Looked engraved to me. Sure is pretty wood, Joe.

you have to click on the picture in the post and it will open the larger image. I copied the address and added the 'image' tags to get it to display. We had to do this before PB made it so easy. Wish Rick B could replicate the tag generation that PB had.

So is this one a 243Win also?

Thanks again Keith for posting pics. I'll have to go back to college and learn this photo bucket routine. The rifle is chambered in 308./ 358 would have been awesome. Does anyone know how many of these were engraved?
