I headed to the high Sierras early Saturday morning.
The snow pack is insane this year, and the pass to my favorite lake, Courtright is still closed, so I headed to option #2, Wishon lake a few miles away.
I launched and was on the lake a dawn. Trolling solo, I boated 16 rainbows, mostly this springs planters, with a couple of 18” holdovers from last year.

Photos to follow.

This crow and eagle chased each other for an hour, finally getting close enough for me to snap a photo.

The snow melt runoff is crazy.
Most years, this waterfall is six feet wide in June

Beautiful photos, tough to beat cold water trout in the high country. Thanks for sharing.

Pretty country you are fishing in. For myself, half the fun of trout fishing is the beautiful scenery that typically goes with it. Put a flyrod in my hand and I am good to go, whether I catch fish or not!

Nice pictures! One of the things that Nebraska lacks is the ambiance of hills, trees, and clear running water, we are not a trout-friendly state.

The good thing about trout fishing here is tailrace fishing is good no matter how hot it gets and the smokie mountains always gives up some fish even in the summer but you gotta do some hiking. Plus the tailrace below norris dam has some ungodly big trout.
