OK I know that savages don't get a lot of love around here but everyone I've shoot has given exceptional accuracy. So has anyone here handled one? They seem like an affordable option for someone looking for a light weight deer rifle.

Mine is a 223. It's the third one down. It looks like it's going to be a decent shooter too in limited load development.

The guns feel great in the hand. They balance well. I like the Accu-Trigger. The magazine catch feels cheesy, but otherwise I think they are an great gun for the money.

The stock isn't robust by any stretch, but is certainly serviceable. It's like so many of the plastic stocks these days. Works better than it feels like it should.

Have one in 243, with a spare 6.5bbl laying here that it may/may not get to wear. Handles well. Stock isn't great, but it's not the worst, either.

Not crazy about their stocks but they really shoot good!

Have a 16 LWH in 223 rem. so far I only shot Hornady superformance ammo NTX under an inch at 100 yards and GMX shot under .75 MOA.

Had a LWH in 243 that I traded to pay some bills (other new guns) that was also a MOA shooter.

I may have to take a closer look at one. Unfortunately or fortunately I just found a sako A7 new old stock for $200 more. Now I am really facing a struggle to overcome my Scottish ancestry and open up my wallet.

I have one in 7-08 that is/was a great shooter, presently on its way for conversion to .358 Winchester. Have another 7-08 Sako, A 7 that is also an excellent shooter, thus the conversion for the Mod 16 LWH.

That should make a sweet 358 LWH!

Do they still have the Model 16 LWH in 270 WIN? Now you have me thinking 35 Whelen LWH...

Yes they do in .270 but not in 30-06. Check out CheaperThanDirt.com

Stock is my first and only spray paint camo job. The bolt is from Glades Armory.
