Right on!

I haven't even been out yet. Work and other obligations have kept me from coming over. Been really slow over on this side from the reports I've heard. Glad to see its happening over there. You''ll be seeing me over there quite a bit starting next weekend.

Good on you for getting kids out.

I was getting worried about you. About 1/2 the abundance, but still enough around.

Very nice, Southeast is so spectacular, especially when the sun is out.

Keep the fair weather fishermen tied up. Can't remember a stretch of se winds like this in June. Usually it's NW winds in June.

I miss Kodiak, Once I got to know the area I could plan on any wind/tide condition (not big seas though), from Whale Pass to Cape Chiniak in my little Hewescraft. I was frequently the only camper on the hook in Long Isand lagoon, especially in mid-winter. smile

I decided to take the boat out for a morning run yesterday to check some new gear and make sure she was ready for another season.
Saw these moose wandering up a dry creek and then swim the river.

Later, after releasing one larger king that was over the slot limit, I thought I'd invite this one back for dinner.

I want to "invite" one home for dinner this wknd myself. King salmon opens here tomorrow. ADF&G had an emergency closure to allow escapement of Taku River kings which were predicted to ,and actually did have, a dismal return. Hope the hatchery kings are in thick as the hatchery chumdogs are right around the corner - yukkk!

Nope - two really bad years in a row. Hatchery return has mirrored it. They keep saying it's open ocean mortality. Not enuff food? Ocean acidification affecting the bottom of the food chain - e.g. plankton?
