It's a stupid test if they have to plug the barrel before they drop the gun in the mud. I realize why they plugged the barrel, but it bears no semblance of reality to muck up a gun but keep the barrel clear. If they can't do the test with the barrel unplugged, then it is a situation where the gun should not be fired in the first place unless the chance of the gun blowing up in one's face is not as bad as the alternative.

I never saw him remove the muzzle obstruction when he removed the Glock from the mud. Did he just shoot it out, or did I miss something?

Both guns failed miserably, as would any other handgun. That much mud guarantees that after the first or second round, enough mud will get in to cause a major malfunction of one sort or another. Whether it's after the first or second round is mostly luck.

Whatever, I'm just glad we don't have an Administration that would insist the hi-point will be the new military pistol, and save more money to fund immigrants from our enemies.

I bet a SIG 229 and a Dan Wesson 1911 would have passed with flying colors.

Those tests are absolutely silly and are designed for nothing more than views. Glock is light years ahead of the hipoint, but the hipoint does work. They are huge and ugly as hell. I wouldnt own one but I've seen them ran hard and still work. Its nice to have options at that price point where anyone can afford a weapon.

Kind of like the Maverick 88 pump shotgun. I saw one of their riot gun models for sale, brand new, for $199.00 at a local gun shop. Eight rounds of 12 ga on tap is hard to beat for home defense.

G5m: Anyone that would claim or infer that in ANY respect the Hi-Point is a superior firearm to a Glock is simply an idiot! I have been using, carrying and shooting pistols of many makes both privately and professionally for 52+ years and have NEVER had occasion to intentionally plug the barrel of and then place any pistol in mud and then tried to fire it! Sheesh. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

VarmintGuy, it's just some guy's Youtube video. And it's just here for grins/comments.
I'm no spring chicken (time does fly) and have yet to pull a stunt like that in the video. Never saw a need to do something like that, either.
I just thought it might be entertaining.

If you run out of ammo, the Hi-Point makes a better club than a Glock.
He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.
