I dont' know what it is about this year, but Carolyn agrees.... its just to damn hot already. Out in the sun its just nasty feeling. Draining your body. Maybe our aging doesn't help. But unless you can work outside in the shade with a breeze, its just not good for the body to work in this damn heat anymore. And being its mid June, that means the next 3 months will be worthless around here. While I pray the whole period not to have vehicle or structure fires.
This heat chit is getting REALLY old already.
Off to work on 10mm loads in the AC.
99 in the shade...
Rant off. LOL

Totally Agree Jeff!! It's been getting there the past couple of weeks. Had to change the oil in the small tractor this morning, and grease/maintain the shredder on it. Got an early start, but hell, it wasn't "cool" when I woke up at 5am... Before I was done, I had sweated out my jeans. Makes one appreciate a good a/c! Ready for fall! (Late fall...)

I dislike summer more and more every year. I only hope we have a fall this year, we haven't had one the past 2 years. At least we are getting rain so far.

On the plus side, I wear my swim trunks when mowing etc and when finished I hop in the Gator and go for a swim in the river.

We are about 100 here. My son and I were wrenching on the car most of the day. Fortunately my garage is a very well insulated 2x6 construction with a 15 foot ceiling so as long as the doors are closed it is a comfortable place to work. Thankfully we fly north for the summer on Tuesday.

It's a comfortable 74° with a breeze here in Mid Michigan but I suspect that it will be a hot summer.

Perfect day here in the KC area. Although the storms the last two nights were kinda sporty.

It has flirted with the 90 degree mark a couple of times already here in Indy, suspect it will be a hot summer. We have been getting enough rain so that things are still green, the grass has slowed down already. Glad we downsized our home last summer, I can get the mowing, trimming and blowing done in a little more than 30 mins. the old place it was more like three hours.

This was the first perfect day in awhile. 80's and relatively low humidity. Best of all, high 50's tonight. I'll open up the house and get the cool fresh air inside and close up early tomorrow. About 5" of rain here in the last 3 nights. A couple of those storms moved north to south which was kind of strange. And we lost power early Sat morning around 2am and didn't get it back until about 16 hours later. Lost power again last night, but it was only for 2-3 hours.

I thought Turnouts were to protect you from the heat It is 110* here today and supposed to hit 117* by Thursday. We had planned to hit the road for the summer and spending it all in the high country mostly camping. Indicted lawyers and the worlds worst bureaucracy [ Nv. Probate court] has delayed plans drastically. We hope to be done by the end of next week. Our local FF's have a good system w/ huge support and frequent rotations on big jobs. When I was w/ Metro SAR we would have tryouts in July w/ a 5 mile uphill deathmarch w/ 40 lb. packs as a gutcheck. Most decided that this was not the glamour they sought. I drew a depradation elk tag that opens Aug. 1 at about 5500' ASL, shouldn't get much hotter then 90*. mike r

Just talked to a friend in Fountain Hills, California. High tomorrow - 115, but cooling to a balmy 84 in the evening.

Wife and I just spent a week down on Hatteras where it was a very nice low 80's all the time...got home today and it's in the damn 90's and humid. I've had enough of this heat already. On the plus side, it shouldn't stay that way here for long.

Sunday a week ago we had snow in Christmas Valley, Oregon. On Monday, we had about 6 inches of fresh snow at Crater Lake. In the interim at the Oregon coast it got into the 60's. Hit the 80's here today.
