My green tiger krylon 700............flat black, then tear blue masking tape to layer up stripes. Hit it green and then just tan the stripes for contrast.
2 hrs and a couple of beers. Has 3 or 4 coats of matte clear on it.
5 or 6 yrs old, still looks like I did it yesterday.

The secret is to know when to stop.

Easy to make too many stripes and have it "busy". Yeah real film dip stuff looks better, but not at distance.

I have been thinking of how to layer orange, red, yellow leaf patterns, like when they fall in the yard.........nobody does a film dip like that.
Got a .22rf stock to do............tried some other paints/colors.............too picky, didn't like the way they came out. Paper towels and acetone.

Kinda tired of my 700 being camo............but am too lazy to strip it off.

Did a sponge paint a while back. Looked OK, slapped on deer bbl and popped a 130" dude. Gun looked bluish in that pic. Stripped it off that week.

More of a solid color guy now...............but still think a nice fall leaf pattern, all leaves, just diff colors, bright...........would be cool on a .22rf stock.

I did a set of bow limbs with colors that came across kinda sorta like a Gaboon Viper smile

Just puttied two last little spots on the .22rf rifle stock...........primer before work.
That gaboon viper color deal might be alright.................thanks for jogging my memory with cool snake colors/pics!

I dropped it off at the ceracoater today he's gonna think about it and give me his ideas in a week, he was real flattered that I gave him the creative liberty to run with it. Guys name is roman arms gun company: https://www.facebook.com/RomanArmsGunCo/

I've been by his shop a few times but this will be his first work for me.

I'm partial to the sponge camo technique myself. Top one is a Ti take off, bottom one is a Montana.

Still kicking around what to paint my .22 stock. Fixed mower, am working on jeep now. Few more beers and the rattle cans might come out!

I've often thought of giving my 84M some paint, similar to the orange and white that Gunwers uses on their stocks...

I have seen the Snow Zebra pattern at the stock maker's shop & knew I had to have it. And, I asked the nice lady painter to mix a few shots of purple in with it. The stock is a Dakota Classic format.
