Shot the old 30-06 a little yesterday. Had some loaded with the 165 AB and RL16. Seems to work pretty decently. Only chrono'ed one round at 58 grains for 2846 FPS.. Pretty sure there might be something in there to work with though.

I recommend you shorten the OAL a quarter turn on your seating die and it will likely bring that straggler into the group.

165 grain ABs on top of IMR 4350 at Nosler's book max charge loaded to Nosler's tested OAL(3.320") cloverleafed in my Dad's 30-06. That was about the easiest load I've ever worked up.

Will do, that is the plan. Seems like it'll come together pretty quickly. Being it's first time out with 165's I was just sorta getting a feel to how it would shoot. Pretty sure it'll work decently.
