Nosler lists H4831 as the go to powder for 150 Partitions. Barrel is 1:9 and 24" in length. Chasing deer and elk.

Anyone verify H4831 or have other loads?

I've got 3 284's Two are Fclass guns and one custom Sako octagon barrel , I only use H-4831, I have used AA-3100 with excellent results but not available anymore. , saved 16 lbs for myself but still like H-4831 with 175-180 bullets , shoot 140 tsx in the Sakowith 54gr H-4831, Change your seating depth with the partitions , you'll be happy, good luck

I used H4350 for years with 140, 150 and 160 partitions. Typically 57-58 grains of H4350 is max load for 140 gr bullets which will yield 3000 fps. Naturally less for the heavier bullets. In my experience 55-56 gr with 150s and 54 with 160s are the max loads. (Winchester brass fed 210 primers OAL approx 2.900")

IMO Nosler's load data seems low. Perhaps they are considering the original 284 win that was offered in an autoloader? Also they used an OAL of 2.800". Most magazines will allow a longer OAL.

ULA Model 20 in 284. Melvin told me 55 grains of IMR 4350 and a 140 grain Nosler Partition. Only load I have ever used in it since new in 1990. Sheep, elk, caribou, mountain goats. Killed hell out of em all.

My 284 Win out of a 19.5" barrel likes best:
120 gr and 150 gr---R15
140 gr and 160 gr---R17
