Question for you guys that tripod mount your SLCs. What is your opinion of the Swaro's adapter? Is there anything better?

I use the one in the link. Works on every binocular made, is well made, inexpensive.

I've got 2 of the Swaro branded mounts. One I leave attached to a window mount, a 2nd I have attached to a tripod "biscuit" so I can attach my 15's to either in very short order. 2 friends have the outdoorsman's mounts set up similarly for window mounts and tripod mounts:

IMO the Outdoorsman mounts work just as well as the Swaro branded mount. I was able to find my 2nd Swaro mount at a significant discount, 1st came with my binocs so I paid roughly the same. If I was starting from 0, I believe I'd buy the Outdoorsman mount. I'd have their stud on my binocs and 2 "risers", one for a tripod, a 2nd for a window mount and I think it'd still cost less than one Swaro mount.

Outdoorsman hands down. Light, compact, unobtrusive, well made with no parts that can wear out. Mount up solid, I've carried my 15s on the tripod over my shoulder for 1000s of miles and never had a problem with the mount. They make studs for old style leicas and can install studs on ELs. They even make barrel clamp style mounts for 2 gen geovids. The only bino that I can think of that can't use the system are the newer Leica HD-B double hinge style geovids and they might have something figured out by now.

I picked up the Outdoorsmans micro pan head, tower, and stud for my SLCs about a week ago and they work great. Easy on/off, pretty lightweight, and from what Im seeing on swaro website a good bit cheaper than the swaro adapter. Check KDC as well. I looked at their stuff and would have bought it if I wasn't already putting in an order at outdoorsmans.

Run the Swarovski with my 15's, no complaints...

The Swarovski adapter, succinctly, is a piece of crap...

Yeah. Mine kinda sucks. Starting to get loose.

The Outdoorsman set up is much better.

Just curious. What don't you like about the adapter?

Definitely the outdoorsmans. Simple, rugged, low profile, great locking system. Have Outdoorsmans stud on 15x56 Swaro SLC, couldn't be happier

It gets loose very fast with any sort of use. It's not that stable either...

Zero confidence carrying my bins attached to a tripod and moving without fear of my Swaros hitting the deck. Happened twice. Pretty much anything I've ever run is better than the Swaro....

Outdoorsman's is the way to go without question although there are others that get the job done too...

What GregW said. I am looking at the Outdoorman's too. I would never carry my 15x56 Swaros attached to the tripod with the Swaro adapter.
