Still trying to figure out how they matted the receiver on the Excelsior. Does anybody know how it was done?

Geez Gary, you might consider sending us a couple pictures of those three!! Or are they already in David's book? Jeff

1. My favorite is a 99E 300 Savage that I bought new in 1966 when I was 15 years old..I grew up with this rifle.
2. My Pre-War R in 300 Savage...My go-to deer rifle....
3. My pre-mil F in 250-3000 with a Westfield barrel....
I have lots of favorites, but these I hunt with regularly....All are scoped with Leupold 3x9's.....

Still trying to figure out how they matted the receiver on the Excelsior. Does anybody know how it was done? The receiver on the excelsior is "stippled" meaning it is hit with a tiny punch over and over again. I have all 3 of these except the #2 is a Crescent grade and #3 is a solid frame and not a take down... Great choices! Personally, talking base models, condition is everything but... 250-3000 Deluxe A prewar RS in 300 Pre-war 99F checkered in 300 I'm that simple. Expanding to fancy factory offering would be difficult... About anything with an early Marlin S pistol grip and perch belly and fancy wood and a shotgun buttplate.
