He's sitting in jail right now over that Katrina deal isn't he?

I heard an hour long documentary on him on Sirius radio.
Home Depot wanted to open a new store in New Orleans. They were having lots of zoning problems etc.
Nagin cleared up all the problems and allowed Home Depot to build the new store.
In exchange, Home Depot had to sign a contract with a granite countertop company owned by Nagin, and managed by his two sons.
They had it set up where Home Depot would buy over a quarter million dollars a year in countertops from this company.

After about 7 months, Home Depot cancelled the contract, despite being in political debt to Nagin.
The countertops were not installed on time and the quality was crap.

Nagin was a crooked as they come. He is doing 10 years in federal prison and still denies any wrongdoing in all the bribes concerning the Katrina rebuilding. He says that all his problems are due to "racism."
What a piece of work.

Nagin read Huey's book.

Sucker sure drowned a bunch of school buses. Strange we never heard much about all the lawsuits from him having his leo confiscate and destroy peoples guns. Also never heard much about how many white women were raped and killed by roving black gangs. Some were nurses who stayed behind and worked in hospitals trying to save the AA suckrs in their care.

Nagin was scum, and yes, the state has a long history of crooked politicians of all colors, BUT it also has a lot to recommend it. Great hunting fishing, and cuisine, for instance. ED M., I DID work there for Shell, in my years with Shell Development Co., on plant startups at the Geismar Plant outside Baton Rouge and The Norco Plant across the river from New Orleans. The Shell people I worked with were mostly great, still have friends there in the offshore exploration arm. I now serve as a part-time consultant on the Environmental Advisory Committee to the contractor running the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Texas and Louisiana for the Department of Energy, so I still spend some time over there, and always look forward to it.

I wonder if he's flooded any school buses lately.

They also had a congressman or senator named Jeffers, I think. He had the National Guard take him to his house to get a bunch of "Cold Cash" out of his freezer. I think he ended up in jail too.

A few days later, on 3 August 2005, FBI agents raided Jefferson's home in Northeast Washington and, as noted in an 83-page affidavit filed to support a subsequent raid on his Congressional office, "found $90,000 of the cash in the freezer, in $10,000 increments wrapped in aluminum foil and stuffed inside frozen-food containers". Serial numbers found on the currency in the freezer matched serial numbers of funds given by the FBI to their informant.
