We have a young GSP that figured since she was a "Bird dog" it would probably be ok to kill one of mom's pillows. Good thing she's such a sweet girl and looked so funny blending into that big pile of feathers!! Let's see some pics of your dogs not acting like "Man's best friend"..... wink

Can't find the picture, but the best one I can recall is when my 200lb Dane decided it would be a good idea to go thru a hollow core door. It looked like when cartoon characters bust thru doors and the hole is almost a perfect outline of their bodies. He's a sweet dog but dumb as he is big.

Not bad. Just typical lab mix behavior. That was a 5" x 16" piece of firewood when it started.

Nice! This has potential for thread greatness.

Baby teeth on pups are like needles, as anyone who's ever had a pup knows.. Made the mistake of being honest at the ER and it was like I'd said I was attacked by a bear. Lady got all stern and informed me that she was obligated to alert the local animal control HQ. Yep, the BAD DOG COPS. Ended up being legally bound to "quarantine" the bloodthirsty pup and keep her in a kennel/cage or similar until the SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR made a formal visit to assess the situation and the accused prisoner. Pepper had to be 'interviewed and cleared' in person before being removed from the dangerous demon hound or criminal canine list or whatever they keep. I told Mrs. KG that I was planning on giving Pep a proper lathering of canned whipped cream about the mouth and neck for when the official arrived. I envisioned flinging the front door open and running past the canine sheriff or whatever they call themselves, screaming bloody murder and blurting out something about the recent raccoon attack incident. Alas, when the woman showed up at the house we happened to be out on the front lawn (clear violation of terms of release BTW), with Pep on her back snorking and grunting contentedly as she nuzzled my hand and her stuffed duck. Lady shot the laser beam eyes at the situation, pulled a pen from her shirt pocket and just scribbled something. She then rolled the window of the official squad car down and motioned for me to take the official paperwork from her. It was like O.J. all over again. She'd freed the pup from legal house arrest or whatever they call it. Good times.

To be honest it was entirely my fault. A brief embracing of idiocy had me acting out the fetching of a bumper in a bedroom. Pep obliged and decided that daddy wanted her to grab the bumper from my mouth, and lunged for it. I thought I had her beat and pulled back as she went for the bumper. Mistake! I yanked back a tiny bit late and with one of her canine baby needle toofs in my upper lip, and hey now, it's time to add to the suture count. I'm north of 500 from my neck up alone. So, no, I don't think my stunning looks were overly affected. Thanks for the concern, though...

I had a Red Heeler years ago. He was My dog, he tolerated the wife, and was jealous of her. Anyway the wife used to sort out the laundry on the basement floor. She was pregnant at the time and had a separate pile for her maternity clothes. Well we used to let the dog in to feed him his kibble. He was left alone for to long one time and shredded her maternity clothes, uff duh was she pizzed.🤕

great thread, guess was too pizzed to take photos of all the dead chit, raingear, boots etc. that dogs have chewed up over the years.

My daughter brought home a beaner weiner and a freakin cat. (part chihuahua part dacshund) the cat gives him instructions on mousing. she'll be nosing in the woodpile or grass looking for voles or shrews while the cat observes.

That cat is a mousing sob, voles and shrews live in fear around my house these days

should have videoed them last night.

love the photo of the GSP and love Lhonda's photos too those are great!

The dog with the winning ugly sweater award would create an ungodly racket while going full crazy every time we motored by headed out for ducks with STX's buddy. Geoff, who is hilarious in general, says, "I know pal, I'd be as upset as you if my mom made me wear such a ridiculous get up..." smile

The two other TX knuckleheads seen had gotten themselves hopelessly tangled around the hydrant so that they were pinned together arse to arse. Being stronger of course, the shepherd was in charge of directional movement, what little there was. Poor partner would have to backpedal every time his buddy took a step.

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

Bad dog top five, easy, this last entry. STX is up to duck hunt, fish and relax as usual, and we went out with my buddy to fish, pull a few lobster pots and do some scalloping. Spent a few hours getting out, dredging, sorting, shucking a few bushels of what I consider to be the best bay scallops in the universe. Get cleaned up, the boat taken care of, the gear cleaned and stowed and Mike is cooking up piles of bugs and these sugary, nutty, buttery beauties that don't come any fresher. Mike sets the plate down right out of the skillet and calls for STX and me to pull up chairs at the table and start digging in. STX and I see a blur shooting towards the table in front of us, and before you could say a word, one of Mike's rabbit dogs--the fat one--is on those scallops. Back feet on a chair, front on the table and mouth going like Pac Man scarfing up the steaming scallops. Before Mike was able to come flying in to grab her, she'd eaten TWO POUNDS of these things. Not for nothing, but he gets 30 bucks a pound for them commercially. While eating the next batch along with our lobsters, I kept my eyes peeled and my fork handy. Fool me once... wink

One day last year I get ready to go outside, look for my hat. I knew I left it around here somewhere. No luck finding it in the house, so I look outdoors, sure as heck, there's my Stetson Crusher laying out on the lawn:

[Linked Image]

This young feller is the culprit. He takes things outside when we leave or he thinks we're going to, separation anxiety I guess. He doesn't chew stuff up as much as when younger, just makes us go looking:

giving his best "why you lookin' at me" look:

[Linked Image]

I never had a camera handy to catch the stuff this little one did. She loved to eat my wife's books or magazines left around when she went to work. Her shoes were a handy substitute. She also had a particular fondness for my leather goods, the ends of belts and once a sheath for an old Sharpfinger knife. Lucky she didn't hurt herself on that one as the knife was still in the sheath:

Wonderful pics there Smokepole,

Our whippets "harass" wildlife too, cottontails and ground squirrels that make it into the yard. Even the ones outside the fence.

We don't consider that "bad" behavior though, as I'm sure you don't mind yours clearing out a coyote. I'd guess your comment was tongue in cheek. wink

Thanks for pics everyone, sure beats the heck out of some of the other posts up here at the top.

My wife did that to me once. That's how we got our first whippet, the little white one with the football. I went turkey hunting and came home to a new dog. She didn't chew on a pillow on our first meeting. She jumped up on the couch and barked at me entering my own home!! Talk about a bad dog.

Does your dog stretch it's neck to lick dishes in the dishwasher?

Has your dog ever gotten it's collar and tags caught on the rolll out tray?

No doubt I'd win if I said I bet the majority, if not all, of us dog owners relate to that statement Pugs.

I miss all ours who have gone before us. I can't say "even the bad ones" as we never had one of those. "Special" ones maybe, not bad..

Ah! I found it! I was out working in the yard on a warm day when I noticed the dog was missing. Coolest as well as softest place around...

[Linked Image]

Nope, that wasn't it either - there is one with the Lab and the Dachsund occupying the entire bed...

Yep, a lawn, in SE Potlandia. During the summer. Basically part of a field I fenced in for the dogs when I was renting from a friend. Never planted, just regular old pasture/field grass that didn't get watered much in the summer and grew too much the rest of the year when it rained.

I'm not much of a lawn person, too much time, money, water, chemicals, effort goes into them in my opinion.

I have a great one where I live now, but then again, I'm living in the topsoil capitol of the world I think.

Geno

PS, I don't do shame well, nanner nanner nanner.

PPS cool dog, is it a lab mix or just a small lab?

Pointer

What kind of dog is that. I had one that looked just like him. She had a chocolate lab for its mother but the guy we got her from didn't know what kind of dog was the sire. She was the best hunting dog I ever had or seen. She was basically a wire haired pointing lab. Best part was I lived in SD at the time, so pheasant hunting was great. She also had a soft mouth, so bird were not tenderized when she brought them back. With out fail, after I hunted in a group, I would get the question of what kind of dog she was, as they wanted to get one like her. My answer was always " half chocolate lab and a wire haired dog that could climb a 8ft fence".

Bull Mastiff Puppy . I have had some great dogs in my life, perhaps more then I deserve, this is one of them. He is a clown and has a knack for being mischevious.
