Had about worm it out. I know at least 5000 rounds down the tube.

Got an entirely new upper w/ 16" stainless 223 Wylde barrel. 9 twister.

Topped off with Leopold VariXIII 3.5-10x40 Long Range M1 Military scope.

Stripped the old finish and redid the paint job while I was at it.

Now all I have to do is sight it in. I cycled a few rounds testing the upper, but still need to put it on paper. Cycles great!

Kinda like having a new rifle.

I liked the extended full length forearm.

Sighted this rifle this morning. Pretty much what I expected. I'm getting 1" groups at 100 yards.

I'll bet I can do better without sweat running in my eyes and in cooler weather that will cool the barrel more between groups. All groups shot were with a warm, but not hot barrel.

Paint job looks bad ass Barry! And I prefer the long hand guard too. Your rifle looks pretty much like the twin to my AR-15 truck gun for cullin hogs and does at the Ranch, and putting the hurt on the local Coyotes. Except mine has the Leupold VXR 4 x 12 30mm scope with the Firedot reticle and CDS dial.

That rifle has been around awhile...

The lower is an Armalite M15A2 model with a U.S. serial number.

It also has the U.S. Military Acceptance Stamp on it...
