I have a nice early 1960's 700 BDL in 6mm that I picked up for my daughter to use (she claimed it). I have been loading 95 gr NBT's and r22 for her deer load that was sighted in at 100 yards with a turret. Velocity was a nice modest 3070 fps with 3/4" MOA at 100 yards. Very fun rifle to shoot!
This weekend I loaded up some 80 gr TTSX's and a max load of IMR 4350 for a black bear stand load. I was contemplating a scope adjustment at some point right before bear season, but was giddy to find out that the TTSX load not only grouped just shy of 1 MOA, but did so 1 " high at 100 yards and with perfect windage. Got to love it when loads are interchangeable. Have not checked velocity yet but it should be north of 3300 fps with the 22" barrel.

My 257 Roberts is like that. I hit on three loads right away wit 90,100&117 gr bullets . All will shoot 1" or better and maybe 1.5" if you mix the different weights.

It happens but not as commonly as suggested and sometimes much better than you could hope. The cartridge I have seen that more often is the .270 and some .243's, .25/06 and .300 Winchesters will do it. The .375 H&H was falsely promoted at doing same in more recent gun rags, but that was more due to regulated rifles and loads in the old black and white days. Old info regurgitated. You know.
In my life, I have owned 1 perfect rifle among some very good ones. It is a Baco Super Grade Model 70 in 7x57 whereby I took it out of the box and mounted a Zeiss Conquest 3-9, took it to the range and it was perfectly sighted for my needs and required no scope alteration. That, I have never seen. Many other rifles shot as well or maybe better with some loads but required some tweaking.
When truth is ignored, it does not change an untruth from remaining a lie.

I had a Sako TRG in .300 Win Mag that was very accurate with 4 different charges when I worked up a load for it but that was using the same bullet. The 6mm loads were pretty much night and day different. Mono vs cup/core bullet, different powder and very different velocity. I guess sometimes a blind hog will find an acorn.

My Sako 85 300 WSM shoots 5 loads into 1.5". I have other rifles that will alternate between two loads. The Sako is the only one that will do so with 5.

I had a stainless 700 Sendero in 7mm STW that was like that. I had 2 loads, one for 120 grain ballistic tips, one for 160 grain partitions, both home-coated with moly. They stayed inside the same 0.75 inch 200 yard group .. no adjustments needed. It happens.

I have a 270 Winchester 150 grain handload that perfectly matches a 130 grain commercial load. As much as I have tried I've not been able to do the same with any other caliber.

I load 180 Sierra Game kings and 220 gr round nose. The RN gets zeroed to100 yards, and the Game kings print 2" high and dead on at 200. 180 gr Partitions will print the same as the Game King in my .06

Close enough with any load for any sane hunting distance for that old rifle...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
