Remington 700 Ti 260 Ackley
History of rifle........I traded for this rifle from another Campfire member in around 2003.
When I received the rifle from him I found that the action screw hole for the scope mount on the very front was slightly stripped.
The other three are tight and in installing mounts and rings it has not affected accuracy in any way. I just want to have full disclosure on this.
The rifle has been on several hunts and has not failed me once.
It was my primary backpack rifle and I took several mule deer with it on WA High Hunts. It has also taken some bull elk
and a few bear.
Since moving to AZ 4 years ago it has sat in my closet.
In 2008 I had the bolt stop modified and had a Wyatts box put in and I then put on a custom barrel and chambered it
for 6.5x284. In was in that configuration for a couple of years, after experiencing some problems with the Wyattts box
I had my smith put back on a 'new' factory 260 barrel and had him chamber it in 260 Ackley. Round count is about 65 to 75 shots with
the new barrel.
I have also installed a 'new' SS magazine box.
The bolt face has also been modified with a sako extractor. It ejects wonderfully.
I had the bolt shroud dura-coated and it is starting to wear off some on the edges but looks fine.
The rifle now wears a McMillan Edge Compact stock with a 13.5 LOP that I bought from Rick. The stock was bedded by my smith.
It is Brown with Red Recoil pad.
Rifle comes with Talley Ring matte lows.
Rifle weighs 5 lbs 6 oz with Talleys.
Trigger is a crisp 3 lbs.
The rifle shoots lights out with Berger 130 VLD Hunters and the Barnes 127 LRX. It also shoots 140 NP's with accuracy.
Rifle comes with Redding dies and 100 pieces of new 260 Rem Lapua brass.
$1,550 shipped for everything.
