back in the day, at k-mart i'm thinking, i procured a .22 semi-auto made in west germany. an Erma, or maybe it was sold as a Iver Johnson. can't recall.
it had two-part/two piece peep site. a large peep and a small peep. kinda looked like a m-1. had an inlet in the stock for a sling and or a oil bottle.
i've shot it a little, not much. has a "heavy" metal magazine, holds 10 if memory serves.
anyone else have one? they're pretty neat. a matte finish, not shiny at all.

surely someone knows about or has seen a iver johnson/Erma (made in germany) brand of semi-auto .22 w/peep sights. it's a shooter. came from k-mart. should have bought several, but just bought one, i've always been a bit tight in the wallet.
the gun shoots lights out. think i burnt the box in the back yard starting a bbq fire.
have an x-tra magazine. the original is 10 shot, and so is the backup. this gun w/o a mag is rare, w/a mag is even more rare?
Erma gun werks. don't even know if they're still around paying the employees?

Never owned or shot one myself but do recall seeing them a time or two on used racks in gun shops. Don't know if they were the exact same as yours though. http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/carbine_JohnstonTucker.html

they look very similar to mine. mine is made by Erma Werks. i believe they mkted the gun under their label, and also produced for Iver Johnson. hdw stock, matte blue. very rugged, a nice shooting gun. just wish i'd stocked up while k-mart had them. now k-mart in that location is gone. mine is made in germany according to the label. at one time finding mags was a pita. maybe that's been rectified now.

Down near the bottom of the first link below sounds like the one you have. ERMA-Werke: http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/carbine_em1.htmlSimilarity in company names can be a bit confusing. Erma Firearms Manufacturing Co.: http://www.m1carbinesinc.com/carbine_ermas.htmlyes, i think that is it, pretty much. it was sold as a iver johnson, but the erma werkes is what is stamped on it. it's a known, fast-action shooter. hdw stock, certainly not walnut. the smaller peep option puts the blade square on a squirrel at the top of a 100 ft. yellow poplar. mine came with a 10 round mag. the mag is heavy, & thick. it'd serve as a weapon in it's own right. i have only seen 10 shot mags, no 5 nor 15 shot mags. it'd be interesting to run into a few of the 15 count mags. the larger flip up peep is fast, and allows one to acquire a running target in nearly an instant. had no clue there was a .22 mag in the family. k-mart got an order in of .22 rf, advertised them, and sold them out. i had no clue about them, but got it home and enjoyed it immensely. looking back, i should have acquired the store's entire inventory. i've had the same opportunity with norinco .22 semi-autos, and i held back. no wonder i'm not rich. the 'net pages you posted on the history & story of Erma Werkes was most informative, and helpful. it was an old line gun mfg company located in Dachau or so it seems.
