I started 3 hives this year. Two from package bees and one from an overwintered split given to my SIL. The package hives have brood in two deeps and capped honey in one super and I added another super yesterday. The other hive had brood in one deep and a second deep full on mostly capped honey. Yesterday we took a second deep and moved four frames of brood to a second deep and replaced the frames with frames and foundation. I am trying to encourage the bees to brood in the first two deeps. I put the deep with honey on top of the two deeps with brood and and a super with frames and foundation on top of that. I am preparing additional supers just in case.

The fall flow should start in august. Within 1/4 to 1/2 mile I have soybean field and clover hay field. So I should get plenty of honey this fall. Hope to share so pics.
