Wondering who has played around with this combo? I have a tikka 270 wsm coming in and I want to start out here. I have Reloader 26 as well as 22, but I am really hoping to find an accurate load with the 26 that gets me close to that 3200 FPS number.

I have loaded 140 grain accubonds with R26. Got excellent groups and 3205 fps. That is the max book velocity, and I got with the book starting load, so be careful.

I have used 69 gr. R26 with various 140s for right at 3200 fps with a 24 inch barrel. This is the only time R26 & R25 loads match. R22 is good too but slightly less velocity but not by much. All three were sub MOA in my rifle. I didn't really do any load work up other than determining a safe maximum. As Badger said start low as some of the data for R26 is based on Quickload where the burn rate of 26 is listed slower than it actually is at least in the cases I have used it in. If the load is much more than a grain or two more than R22 then the load may be suspect.

I have some test rounds loaded up ready to take out to the range. Groups of 3 ,starting at 64, 65, 66, 66.5,67, 67.5,and 68. Will make adjustments after seeing how these work our. They are loaded to 2.869 which is as far out as I can seat them and still feed in the tikka magazine.

Good to stop at 68 as the five more grains and long bearing surface could run up pressure. Let us know how it works out.

I have the Tikka in 270 WSM also. Bought it in a lefty to build off of but made the mistake of loading up some 145ELD ‘s with Reloder 23 and decided it was a keeper. My load is 64.3 running 3190 with a ES of 7 Sd 3.6
