That's fine, some people don't know the finer things in life and Dukes with a fresh tomato and light bread in the summer can't be beat. Plus it just leaves more for us from the South .

Had Dukes at a sandwich shop when I was in the Atlanta area back in the late 90's helping close down Mervyns stores there. Asked what mayo and they said Dukes extra thick. First time I was introduced to commercial extra thick mayo or even knew of its existence.
I get Best Foods extra thick here in KOMMIEFORNIA thru a restaurant supply house.

Agree that Duke's closely followed by Blue Plate is the best.

For commercial, I like Hellman's, but the best is grandma's homemade aioli !

My mistake my comprehension skills were compromised due to Blue Agave. My apologies to any I offended, Dukes in made in my hometown by the C.F. Sauer Co. Only mayo there is , everything else is second rate. The first nonbeliever to step up and send me your address, I will ship a quart for your perusal with tomatoes and light bread.

Dukes in my frig. I recently tried Blueplate. Pretty good as well if you cant get Dukes. MW is not mayo. Anymore than margarine is butter. Or Tang is orange juice. But if you like it on your sammich have at it.

Normally I like Hellman's. I've been trying to order from places other than Amazon as they are getting too big. Walmart (small company I know :)) has free 2 day shipping on most stuff with a minimum order and so I have some Dukes headed north for just $3.28. https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=dukes%20mayonnaise&typeahead=dukes

OK, so I keep hearing/reading about Dukes, gonna have to see if anyone has it locally.
I have been a Hellmans kinda guy since the 70s so it will be a challenge for Dukes to satisfy me.

Put me in the "can't tell any difference" camp. Best Food/Hellman's or Miracle Whip are just about the same to me. I've never had Duke's so I can't say. I will admit that I do prefer the Hellman's with Olive Oil, but all my wife buys are "Lite" and "Low Fat" things.
Maybe I'll take up rrconductor's offer of a quart. (I'd settle for a half-pint.)

Those Johnny Rebs are on to something in this case.... My jar came last night. I just opened it in preparation for a couple 'mater sandwiches. I tried a spoon sample and thought "good stuff". Then I tried my beloved Hellman's...'blah" What the heck?! Compared to the Duke's, the Hellman's basically was like Miracle Whip Lite. No joke! When tasted side by side the Hellman's sweetness is more like a salad dressing. The Duke's is more pure white, tangy, and just plain better. I have seen the light; the internet shows its worth once again!

I was in the camp of mayo is mayo is miracle whip. Could not tell the difference really. Seen Dukes at Walmart a while back. Bought a small jar. Damn it has flavor. It is not just sweet white goop like mayo or miracle whip. I must say I was more in the miracle whip camp as it had a slight flavor edge over mayo but was still more sweet than anything else. Dukes is just damn good. Cannot describe it really other than it hits sweet sour and salty perfectly. A good dose of black pepper and you got a hell of a turkey sandwich. Or a stack of thick cut bacon on coarse wheat bread toast with Dukes on both pieces of bread. I would not take a sandwich to work for lunch when I ran out of Dukes. Waited until I restocked. Bought the big jar this time.

also another reason for coming back was to comment on this mayo testing. FIRST of all WTH do yankees know about good mayo? Everything they put on sandwiches comes out of those little squirt package's. To be completely transparent, most of us had never even tried Duke's before, and a quick Google search showed us why. A brand that found its roots in South Carolina in the early 1900s, Duke's hasn't entirely made its way up north. In fact, we had trouble finding a jar of the stuff anywhere in the five boroughs of New York, resorting to ordering Duke's online to get a taste of the famous mayo.
Although it's not necessarily readily available to us Northerners, Duke's has clearly made its mark on the South and beyond, staking a claim as the favorite of home cooks and chefs alike. When asked if he prefers to make his own mayo, Mason Hereford of famed sandwich spot Turkey and the Wolf in New Orleans clearly stated, "No [bleep] way, because we have an allegiance to Duke's." SECONDLY WTH puts mayo on fries? Especially, in a taste test???? For this they all deserve to live in Miracle Whip city!! A few weeks ago, we at Taste Testers set out on a rather innocent mission: pick up some popular mayo brands at the grocery store, conduct a blind taste test consisting of dipping waffle fries in said mayo and determine our favorites as a group. Dukes is so good because they use more egg yolks than many others and good apple cider vinegar. And of course it's made right there in my hometown of Greenville, SC!!

I seen Duke's in WalMart here a few years back. After hearing the comments about it here on the campfire, I thought I would give it a try. I have been buying it since. Wal-Mart is the only place that sells it locally.

I guess that is better than gravy on fries. The 1st time I was in Buffalo, and then Toronto, the lady said you want gravy on your fries , I being from the south said No Mam we put gravy on meat or catheads or rice ,none of which ya'll have here that I have seen. Needless to say she didn't find the humor. I guess they don't get good tomatoes for ketchup.

Go to Utah, they mix ketchup and mayo, call it fry sauce. You can guess the rest.
It's pretty good.
